The International Crane Foundation has the mission to “conserve cranes and the ecosystems, watersheds, and flyways on which they depend.” Their site in Baraboo, WI is a zoo-like facility that purports to exhibit all 15 species of cranes from throughout the world. I did not count to see if all the 15 different species were on exhibit.

Brolga - native of Australia. I would like to think that the cranes that came
up to the fence were friendly or, at least, curious. In fact, they were preparing
to defend their territories, their bird runs.
