Sedona and the Coconino National Forest

Vorticies

March 3 and 4, 2010

I never did quite figure out what a vortex is supposed to be. My best explanation is a vortex is a location where one can reach a higher level of spirituality, whatever flavor spirituality you prefer. Whatever the case, there are a number of well defined vortex locations near Sedona, including one at Bell Rock and another at Cathedral Rock.

Red Rock Crossing near Cathedral Rock is both a vortex and one of the most photographed locations in the Coconino National Forest. Could be. However, I was not spritually inspired or able to take an acceptable landscape photo at Red Rock Crossing.

Coconino This is at Red Rock Crossing where people leave these stone formations - something to do with the fact that Red Rock Crossing is a vortex.
